Got a few minor updates done this week.

• You can now attended date to automatically update when you increment hours for a rank level.
  • The logic being, if you’re taking attendance (either before or after class), as you’re updating the progress toward a students next rank, the last attended date should also be updated. You’ll find this setting on the “My Account” tab, with the label “Set Last Attended Automatically:”
• Manually set the last attended date, when changing it on the bulk update screen.
• Fixed tab order, when adding students.
  • it no longer tabs to the image upload, it now tabs the fields as you would expect

We added this feature a while ago, but we only got the instructional video done yesterday.  So for those of you that haven’t found it yet, here it is.

This feature will allow you to track the progress (in hours) for a students next rank.  This feature is also available on the mobile site (http://m.thedojomanager.com)

Phew, The Dojo Manager now supports international characters. For all those that have been waiting for this, thank you for your patience.

Now if your students name is “Ⱪ☻☼♀₩ỘẰẙẅ”, no problem, we got ya covered.

We’ve added standard/predefined transactions. Paul from White Rock Kenshin Kan pointed out that he charged his students for the same stuff over and over again (same amounts, not the same stuff), and that it would be nice if there were a feature which allowed you to just pull the amount from a list. Well, here ya go Paul, check out the video, and get crackin’ on the charging of the students.

We added expense tracking to The Dojo Manager! It works just like the Leads, simple and easy to use.

We finally integrated Paypal into the system. You can now send a link to your students (each student has their own unique link), where they can check their account balance, and pay their account via Paypal.

We realize sending every student an email with their unique link will be a burden, but we are still working on the infrastructure for the email system.

Automated email generation is on the roadmap for the future, we’re just not there quite yet. Check out the video for detailed instructions on how to use the paypal integration.

The date portion of the globalization project is done!  We’ve added a setting in the “My Account” tab, where you can specify you preferred date format.  If anyone one doesn’t see the option they like, let us know and we’ll add it.

Feedback, just like in class, is the best way we learn, what we can be doing better.  We want to be Black Belt at helping you manage your dojo.  Thank you all so much for your help to make our product better.

Things might be a little quiet around here for a while. We’re going to start working on globalization, a least for the dates. We realize it is terribly annoying for our international clients to have the mm/dd/yyyy format instead of dd/mm/yyyy

Unfortunately, the original design of the system did little to account for this, and much of the system needs to be ripped out and rebuilt. This might take a while, but we believe it’s an important step in the progress of the system.  Thanks to all our international clients and their patience while we work on this.

In the bulk actions tab there is now a “send email” selection. Simply check all the students you’d like to send an email to, change the selection to “send email” and click the go button.
